If you are involved in any way with building or remodeling in Boulder County, you are probably aware of, or have been affected by, the BuildSmart program, Boulder County's green building code. It has been a controversial program, to put it mildly. After being in place for about a year, Boulder County is ready to make some adjustments to the program, and will be holding a public hearing on Tuesday May 19 at 2:00 PM at the Boulder County Courthouse. The County has been holding a series of meetings over the last few months to gather public input about the program, and the results of those meetings will be shared with the County Commissioners at this hearing. There will be opportunities for more public comment, as well.
